Men’s Alcohol Rehab
Near Oklahoma City

Break the cycle of alcohol dependency in a structured, supportive environment designed exclusively for men seeking profound, lasting change.

Overcoming the Grip
of Alcohol

Alcohol addiction is pervasive, socially accepted, and incredibly difficult to overcome alone. The physical dependence is only part of it. The psychological reliance often runs deeper, tied to stress, trauma, or patterns of thinking that have built up over years.

At Clay Crossing, we treat both. Our residential program in Maud, Oklahoma puts structured distance between you and the environment where the drinking happened. Not as an escape, but as a clinical decision. Away from daily triggers, the work gets clearer. Using CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed care, we help men understand what’s been driving the addiction and build the skills to manage it for good.

Why Men Only?

Men open up differently when they’re only around other men. Without the posturing that comes with mixed-gender settings, they’re more willing to be honest about what’s really going on, how they got here, and what has to change. That kind of honesty is what makes this treatment stand out.

Dual Diagnosis Focus

Treating addiction without treating underlying mental health conditions leads to unstable recovery. Our clinicians address both from day one so men can build durable routines, emotional regulation, and long-term sobriety.

How Clay Crossing Treats Alcohol Abuse

Alcohol Use Disorder is a clinical condition, not a failure of willpower. Every man at Clay Crossing receives an individualized treatment plan built around what’s actually driving his drinking. Whether that’s anger, depression, or any other patterns of behavior that alcohol has been managing for years.

We also treat what comes with it. Depression, anxiety, and PTSD frequently run alongside Alcohol Use Disorder, and leaving them unaddressed is one of the most common reasons recovery doesn’t hold. Our dual diagnosis approach means both are treated at the same time, by the same clinical team.

What to Expect

Alcohol Detox Timeline

Alcohol withdrawal follows a general pattern, though every man’s experience is different depending on how long and how heavily he’s been drinking.

6-12 Hours

Stage 1

Early symptoms such as anxiety, nausea, headaches, and tremors may begin as the body starts adjusting.

24-72 Hours

Stage 2

Symptoms may intensify and require close monitoring. This window carries the highest risk for severe complications.

3-7 Days

Stage 3

Physical symptoms typically begin to subside, though fatigue, sleep disturbances, and mood changes may continue.

At Clay Crossing, men are monitored around the clock throughout detox. If symptoms escalate, our clinical team responds immediately so the process is managed safely from the first day through stabilization.

Recognizing the Problem

Signs of Alcohol Use Disorder

Alcohol Use Disorder is often discussed but rarely understood. Below are the DSM-5 criteria clinicians actually use to identify AUD and determine its severity.

A man thoughtfully decides to seek professional help for alcohol use disorder while reflecting in a quiet setting.

Loss of Control

Drinking more than intended or for longer than planned. Repeated attempts to cut down that do not last.

Cravings & Preoccupation

Strong cravings that interrupt work, family, or routine tasks. Large amounts of time spent drinking, recovering, or planning around alcohol.

Escalating Consequences

Continuing to drink despite conflict at home, legal issues, or job risk. Using alcohol in dangerous settings, including driving.

Physical Dependence

Needing more alcohol over time for the same effect. Withdrawal symptoms such as tremors, sweating, nausea, anxiety, or insomnia when not drinking.

For Families

Discussing Alcohol Treatment with a Loved One

Conversations about treatment are often emotional, and timing matters. People are more likely to accept help when they feel respected rather than judged. The goal is to lower defensiveness, increase safety, and keep the door open.

Plan the conversation

Choose a time when they are sober and relatively calm. Keep the setting private and free from distractions.

Use specific observations

Use clear, factual language and I-statements, such as “I am worried about what happened last weekend,” instead of labels or character judgments.

Offer a concrete next step

Have options ready, including a screening call, insurance verification, or transportation to an assessment appointment.

Set boundaries and follow through

Boundaries protect everyone in the household. Be clear about what will change if treatment is refused, and apply those limits consistently.

For Medical Emergencies

If someone is experiencing severe withdrawal symptoms such as seizures, confusion, hallucinations, or loss of consciousness, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. Severe alcohol withdrawal can be life-threatening and requires immediate medical attention.
