Continuum of Care

Types of Treatment
for Men in Oklahoma

A full continuum of clinical care, from medical detox through residential treatment and beyond, designed exclusively for men ready to rebuild their lives.

Why a Full Continuum

Healing the Whole Man,
Not Just the Addiction.

Addiction rarely exists in isolation. It is almost always accompanied by unresolved trauma, depression, anxiety, or other mental health conditions that have been self-medicated for years. A single level of care is not enough to untangle all of that.

That is why Clay Crossing provides a structured continuum of care: from medically supervised detox through immersive residential treatment and step-down programs, ensuring every man receives the right intensity of care at every phase of his recovery. Our clinical team builds individualized treatment plans using ASAM criteria, adapting as each man progresses.

The Process

How Treatment Works

Recovery is not a single event. It is a sequence of intentional steps, each building on the last. Here is how the process unfolds at Clay Crossing.

01

Clinical Assessment

Every man begins with a thorough medical and psychological evaluation. We assess the severity of dependence, co-occurring mental health conditions, and personal history to determine the appropriate level of care.

02

Medical Detox

For men with physical dependence on alcohol or opioids, withdrawal must be medically managed. We facilitate referrals to trusted detox partners near Oklahoma City to stabilize safely before transitioning to our campus.

03

Residential Treatment

The core of recovery happens here. Immersive 30, 60, or 90-day programs at our remote campus combine individual therapy, group sessions, life-skills training, and a strict digital detox to break old patterns.

04

Step-Down & Aftercare

Recovery does not end at discharge. Our Partial Hospitalization Program provides continued clinical support as men re-enter daily life, backed by relapse prevention planning and alumni resources.

Clinical Toolkit

Evidence-Based Therapies
That Actually Work

We do not rely on a single therapeutic model. Every man at Clay Crossing receives an individualized treatment plan assembled from a combination of proven clinical methodologies, each chosen to address the specific psychological, emotional, and behavioral drivers of his addiction.

Our licensed clinicians use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to identify and restructure harmful thought patterns, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to build distress tolerance and emotional regulation, and Motivational Interviewing to strengthen internal commitment to change. For men carrying trauma, we integrate EMDR and trauma-focused processing to address what talk therapy alone cannot reach.

These therapies are delivered through a mix of one-on-one sessions, process groups, psychoeducation classes, and experiential activities, including our equine therapy program. The result is not just sobriety, but a fundamental shift in how men understand themselves, manage their emotions, and relate to others.

CBT & DBT

Restructure destructive thought patterns and build real-world emotional regulation skills that last beyond treatment.

Group & Individual Therapy

One-on-one sessions for deep clinical work paired with process groups where men learn from each other’s experience.

Experiential Therapies

Equine therapy, fitness, and outdoor activities reinforce recovery lessons in a way that classroom settings cannot replicate.

Dual Diagnosis

Treating Addiction and Mental Health Together

More than half of men struggling with substance use disorder also have an untreated mental health condition: depression, anxiety, PTSD, or ADHD. When only the addiction is treated, the underlying condition continues to drive relapse. When only the mental health is treated, the substance remains the coping mechanism.

Clay Crossing’s dual diagnosis program addresses both simultaneously, from day one, with the same clinical team. No referrals to outside providers. No waiting for one to be “fixed” before starting on the other. This integrated model is what separates short-term sobriety from lasting recovery.

The Environment

Your Destination for Change

Treatment works better when the environment supports it. Clay Crossing is a remote setting with fishing ponds and native Oklahoma grasslands outside of Maud, far from the bars, the routines, and the people that enabled the addiction.

Every man gives up his phone on arrival. There is no social media, no news cycle, no digital noise. The result is an environment where men are fully present: in therapy, in group, and in the quiet moments between that often produce the most honest reflection.
